About Me
My name is Devon, and I started with computers at the age of 11 with a RadioShack TRS80-III that my dad bought for the family. I started building my own computers with my friend to play games together over a LAN (Local Area Network). Our first internet experience was a BBS (Bulletin Board System) where we would log on through a 24 baud modem through a phone line and read posts or make posts of our own.
My hunger for technology and new things grew as the internet grew. I would take websites that I found appealing, look at the HTML code, try to duplicate and then modify it to do what I envisioned. I would set up one of my computers as a web server and then, over the home network, work on perfecting a website. I took some college courses in computer repair and web design to improve my skills and learn what I missed on my own. I am now pursuing a BS degree in Computer Software Technology to become an experienced programmer and put my skills to good use. As I attend the University of Arizona Global Campus, I aspire to reinforce what I have already learned through self-taught methods by completing the Fundamentals of Information Technology and Literacy class. My goal is to work in the software development department of my current company if they have any job openings but if that doesn't work out, then I will seek new employment at another company.
